SOCIAL REINTEGRATION PROJECT
Salad Bar ‘Mano Guru’, which in translation means having a personal spiritual guide, was founded by Vilnius Centre for Addictive Disorders, Vilnius Municipality and restaurant enterprise ‘Virsupis’. Its staff – waiters, bartenders and chefs – consists of people who successfully completed the rehabilitation programme and are free from substance use. Participants of the social reintegration project receive training and work experience, and in a half a year are granted a certificate which allows them to seek employment in other catering facilities.
Located in the city centre, the restaurant boasts of cosy atmosphere, nutritious meal and friendly staff. Being a combination of entrepreneurship and social initiative, it pursues its values by inviting young artists and musicians to present their work, providing space for lectures and discussions on social issues and promoting healthy lifestyle. By its nature the restaurant is unique not only in Lithuania – it has been recognized internationally by the European Enterprise Awards and received an award in the Responsible and inclusive Entrepreneurship category.
