Rehabilitation Unit for Adolescents and Youth aims to help young people (14 to 24 years old) who have substance abuse or addiction issues seek recovery and stay in remission, as well as develop emotional, social, learning and other skills. Psychologists and social workers hold regular consultations with the children, while teachers from Jonas Lauzikas Consulting and Educational Centre provide on-site school education to the Unit residents and thus ensure smooth transfer back to the usual school curriculum. Patients attend individual and group activities where they learn about the harm that drug use causes to our health, social environment and psychological state, as well as practice to change their risk behaviour. By developing young people‘s skills, teaching them how to identify, note and analyse one‘s feelings, our specialists work to boost young people‘s confidence and to aspire them strive to achieve personal goals. Various activities are regularly organised in the Unit, which include:
- volleyball, football, ping pong
- using the gym
- film screening and discussions on related topics
- art, relaxation, dance and movement therapies
- board games
- various field trips etc.
Length of stay at the Rehabilitation Unit for Adolescents and Youth is 1 to 3 months, with a possibility to prolong up to 6 months if recommended. The Unit is capable of admitting 10 patients at a time.
Services are free of charge unless stated otherwise. However, if an anonymous treatment is required, the treatment is not covered from the National Insurance Fund and thus it is paid for by the patient.
